Rear Drum Brake Issues

Was just riding home now and the rear drum brake pedal has gone soft....
In other words F-all stopping power but will hold stationary on a hill. There wasn't much free play in the foot pedal before but there is a lot now......


Ideas before i start pulling things a part???

if it was a sudden change, I would pull it apart to inspect it.

Have you adjusted the chain recently? I'd pull it apart too. I have seen shoes fall off of brakes.

Nope no chain adjustments………….Have added pullin it off to the todo list..
Any thing I need to know before I do so i don't mess it up?? Like small parts that fall out or springs that go flying?

No small or flying parts. Just a spring holding the 2 pads together.
