Check out this video: http://www.xs650chopper.com/2010/11/chris-...ke-first-build/. Skip to 2:44 in. That's a good shot of a simple rear brake setup, but the guy rigged the return spring up going backwards so he wouldn't need a stop screw. Is that safe?

bought my mids from g&l choppers..well worth the 270 shipped...they were kind of a pain to get ahold of but great engineering on the mids...

The hooligan picture is about as basic as your gonna get!!!! I have the exact same set up on my bike. just drill the hole out for the zerk fitting and I used a stock brake pivot off a rear with disc brakes. very simple and functional..... you just want to fabricate things so it can be easily taken apart and maintenenced.
