hey knowledgeable folk at 650,
can anyone please help me with rear wheel offset on my 81 heritage special, i recently laced in new spokes and and alloy rims but was a bit enthusiastic when cutting the old ones out and forgot to measure offset, i saw on another thread that it is 1mm towards sprocket, but im unsure as to what point this is from, i have had the hubs powder coated so for accuracy the only point not coated is the sprocket face so, with a straight edge across the sprocket mounting face on the hub, i would like to know the measurement(in metric please) between the straight edge and the rim???

i realise noone is going to dismantle there chain n sprocket just to measure that for me! but was hoping someone may have used that point for truing before and will know what im talking about. maybe.
