Really liking the look of riserless handle bars for my 75' XS, just curious to get some feedback on which type of grommet to use in the actual top triple clamp. Or if turning down some homemade rubber bushings would work?? Any feedback would be much appreciated!!

Hi js,
riserless bars AKA "Rabbit Ears" ? Like these?

Remember the XS650's alleged vibration? The stock bar risers rubber bushings are just one of the many anti-vibration devices that Yamaha did instead of rubber-mounting the engine.
So yeah, a pair of rubber sleeves in there would be a good thing.
I suppose you will be boring out a set of stock rubber bushings?
What we used to do to machine rubber was to sit the parts in the deepfreeze overnight and machine them real quick while they were still frozen.

Riserless doesn't mean he wants rabbit ears. Lots of styles can be made to be riserless. Not meaning any offense, just saying.
