Route Advice

Hey!

I'm taking a trip from NYC to Maine on the good ole' xs. I was curious if anyone had ridden anywhere along the route and had any favorite roads or recommendations of things that they loved along the way.

Whether it's a good road, a good view, or good camping spot, or some good barbecue, I'd love to hear what everyone else might know of on here.

You may find the coastal route consists of heavy traffic on interstates, as they have discovered the fastest way to move vast quantities of vehicles is multi-lanes in straight lines. The further north you can arc a route the more interesting things become for the traveler.
You didn't mention how much time allowed.
I'd head due north through NY state and cut across the top 2/3 of Vermont and NH, getting down in Portland ME. On sunny days your arm will get tired wavering to all the bikers you meet.
Straight route your up I 95 or the Mass pike, lord help you and your XS my friend, once in Maine take a deep breath and go to Bentleys for a beer or Bucks Naked BBQ for food you've earned it
