Hi All, Wonder if you can help on these queries.

I bought a Champion style fibreglass seat and pad from Red Max Speed Shop. Items are good, but when I offered the seat to the frame it would'nt fit. The seat width was not wide enough to go over the seat tubes and also the seat began to narrow inwards before it got to the shock absorber mounts.
Steve at the shop assures me it is made for the XS 650 and suggests my frame could be a TX frame - Frame number is S650-127502 and the bike did come from the U.S.

Are there any differences between the two frames i.e wider across the seat area.

Also will a chain guard from an 80's XS fit a 1972 model.
Any advice will be greatly received.

Ben

...indicates its an XS2

- the 80's swingarm is a little longer-3 chain links...
- the XS2 chain guard has 2 sidemount points and the later has 1 sidemount point and 1 hidden from under

- quite apart from the width-which you will need someone with an XS2 to tell you, the seats have different hinges and closing latches...if youre handy with a welder that shouldnt be a problem if the pan fits
