Almost ready to ride !!!!!!

Trying to get the seat to release easily and lock down securely.
1983 Heritage Special
Does this bike have any kind of rubber at the front "fork" (on the seat, the front mount ) type thingie (as technical as I can get right now ) .

This "fork" just kinda' goes into the frame mount (front) and waves at the world allowing the seat to slide forward. This then allows the rear latch to release without using the seat release lever. NOT real secure and tough on the new tank paint.

Hi
Think I have the same seat as yours & mine is very secure, in fact it can be difficult to get off!
There is no rubber at the front & when my seat hooks under the front "fork" there is no forward movement.
Apoplogies for the poor quality of the photos but just popped out & took a couple of quick pics on my mobile.
Hope it helps
Kev

Thank you.
It appears from the pics that the front "tabs" have a "hook" ??? shape.....
Mine have been bent almost flat. I'll have to see if I can find a pic.
Right now the least of my problems. First ride 49,548 kicks, several stalls and trouble finding neutral.
Pulled my left leg, kicking, my right knee hurts from the kicking and I burnt my arm reaching under the bike to see what a drip was (my sweat).

Thanks again for extra effort.
