I decided to run a super small battery and move my ignition unit down into my battery box. Do you think this set up is ok? I have the battery and ignition unit backed up to a piece of 1/2 soft rubber. They are also sitting on top of a piece of 1/2 inch thick rubber. I'm worried about ventilation, moisture and longevity of the battery. Any suggestions? I made the picture large so you can see what I'm talking about.

I was just thinking that. I have a 12v 7.0ah scooter battery.

And my battery box is quite deep. I was gonna try to put the TCI on top of the battery.

You can see the reg/rec mounted right above it. This will keep that cool and everything will be close together. No long lengths of wires. I'm wondering the same. I was gonna put the battery in then make a shelf above it to mount the TCI then a lid. The shelf would provide an air space between the battery and TCI so they are not sitting against each other.
