I've upgraded to the PAMCO and PMA, have the timing right and now it's doing this. Before i had the timing right it wasn't doing it but it was too far advanced.

When i bought new spark plugs for the bike before i did all of this i got one hotter the bloke said they'd be good because its an old bike. Would it help if i went back one now after these upgrades?

Its even worse with the choke on which is making me think its to rich at the moment??

Where is the mixture screw on a 76's carbs??

Could it be the old air filters??

Any input would be great, thanks!

On the carbs, have you read the carbguide, www.amckayltd.com/carbguide.pdf
Yes there are mix screws on your carbs.
Set the timing to hit the idle timing marks and not go past the max advance marks when you rev it up.
Once you get the timing set then look at the carbs.
You don't want a hotter plug. NGK BP7ES is the stock plug. I use Autolite AP63's Not much more than the stock plug but with my high output green monster coil they can be gapped wider for a better spark.
