Solenoid question to enoid the smart guys

Hello xs650 community,

If my bike is a kick start only bike, do I need a solenoid? Or maybe the better question is... Is there a benefit to having a solenoid with a kick start only bike?

The solenoid connects the starter motor to the battery, so with no starter motor it's pretty pointless keeping it.

Thank you, had to be sure due to a fuse in the starter as well.
