Thought this may come in handy one day for many of us who are taking thing apart to fix or modify them. It’s a hack from the Ducati group. Many Ducati exhaust systems are made up of slip fit sections that are held together with springs. It actually works quite well. To disassemble the exhaust the springs must be removed. Most would use pliers but that damages the metal on the spring hooks. This hack involves the use of a zip tie. Simply thread the zip tie through the end of the open hook, loosely close the tie and now you have a loop you can stick one or two fingers in to pull the spring hook away from its anchoring point. When done, trim the tag end of the zip tie under the latching section and you can use it again. Hope the pictures make sense.
