I am currently removing rust by electrolysis and found sheets of previous liner material when renewing the soda/water solution. I could assume that a physical rather than chemical process would work as the liner material doesn't want to let go. Any ideas as to how to get back up and running would be greatly appreciated. The bike developed left cylinder problems last fall...misfires, cold left pipe, smells of gas, etc. I found rust in the float bowls and started to derustify accordingly. Carb cleaning will be next. Thanks ahead to all who reply.

Take some small dry wall screws, BB's ect and put in the tank, shake it around untill it is out.

Thanks for your idea. Time to do the tanker two-step. After posting, I found more techniques that seem good also...will be cruising soon!
