Been meaning to do this for a while, so here goes. I've had my '81 Special ll for about 8 years. I used it for a short comute and my main mode of transport for about 6 years. Needless to say, the bike was getting I bit clapped-out. The seat in particular was in rough shape. Another member posted about seat options for his Special and I posted a reply saying that I would be interested in the original if he were to swap it out. To my surprise, a day or two later, Kevin Werner reached out to say that he had an original Special seat in good condition left over from the "red bike" build. What's even better is he said that it was mine for the price of shipping. (Wisconsin to Kansas City) we ironed out the details and soon thereafter the seat ar rived and it looks great . It really does wonders for the overall appearance of the bike and seems to add a small but noticeable bit of height to the bike. I'm 6'1" so that's a good thing. Sure miss the days of Greyhound Shipping R.I.P. So thanks again Kevin. To me, that's what this forum/community is all about.
