so, i managed to drop at '75 motor into my 78 special. I have it all mounted, but stopped for the night.

I see that in between the carb holders and the motor from the 78 there were some thin gaskets that were glued in...

Do I need gaskets to between the carb holders and motor for the '75?

the only thing i see is the "intake spiggot" on mikes

Yes, its normal to use gaskets for the carb manifolds.
