Hello,

I am in the process of replacing the throttle shaft seals on my 1979 XS650 Special II.

Thanks to my new Japanese screwdrivers and some WD40 removing the original butterfly valve screws was easier than I had expected.

My question: should the seals and shaft be installed dry or would it be a good idea to use some kind of grease?

Thank you,
Armin

NAPA sells a squeeze tube of silicone grease, it's my go to assembly lube for anything with rubber.
