I have a pamco with e-advance, hhb pma and a capacitor.

1) when doing the timing does it matter what coil wire I clip onto.. left or right sat on the bike?

2) Am I looking to get the TDC mark that I put on the fly wheel to line up with TDC or FIRE mark on the HHB case sticker when its running at idle?

I have no tach on the bike, so should I assume the e-advancer is working correctly at 3000rpm?

The timing mark hunts a little moving back and forth maybe 1/4'' from the stationary mark at idle.... is that normal?

brady,

1. One of the plug wires is a negative voltage and the other is positive. The timing light works best on the negative wire, but there is no easy way to determine which wire is negative, so if you get erratic timing, try the other wire.

2. The fire mark at idle (1200 RPM)
3. Set the timing at idle (1200 RPM) . However, you should check for max advance at 3,000 RPM.

The hunting could be because you are using the positive plug wire instead of the negative wire.
