Top end rebuild what is needed?

Ok first let me apologize if this has been covered, I could not find it. I have ordered a manual for my motor(that I dont have yet), but I know it needs new rings, My question is what all is needed to do a top end rebuild, I know the obvious, rings head gaskets exhaust gaskets, possible piston and cylinders. What am I missing, Im trying to do some shopping that way I am ready for when I get my motor. Just point me in the right direction if this has been covered thanks.

Front camchain guide. Carb rebuild kits. Intake manifolds. Camchain &masterlink(maybe). Cylinder base gasket. Update your ignition to a Pamco(or whatever your choice is) or hotter coils.

You usually replace the valve guide seals simply because they're 30+ years old. Check valves for leaks and hand lap back in if they do. You might want to spring for the complete engine gasket set. It includes all the o-rings you'll need plus the valve guide seals, along with all the gaskets of course.
