Hey guys.

Just tried cutting the stock mufflers off on a 79' XS. Got the weld cut and separated from the inner pipe but the muffler just doesn't want to let go. It feels like something is holding onto it from farther up in the muffler. Connecting pipe maybe? Any advice guys?

Hi Garrett,
the outer pipe is just for show, it's the inner pipe that you need to work with.
That inner pipe goes further into the muffler and it gets all complicated inside there too.
The muffler is scrap so start peeling it like an onion until you can see how and where the inner pipe connects and then decide where to cut it.
