I am preparing to build a custom hardtail for my 75. I have measured the factory tubing and found a mere .065-.070" wall thickness on the lower tubes. Is this all the factory used? Can I use a .065" wall DOM tubing for my hardtail? I see most kits advertised use .120" DOM for thier kits. is this really required? or is it more a liability issue? What is the best way to bend the tube? I was hoping to put a 4" radius rear loop for axle plates... but I think it may be too tight of a bend.

I would use .120 wall just cuz it seems to be the standard. You can make a 4 inch radius if you have the die. I have the jd model 3...it is the entry level bender. swbill just got the model 32...and travis has one he made. Either way will work. But I would stay away from the HF bottle jack bender. Im sure the guys above will agree but a few will tell you they are great! But what do I know I havent had a chance to use mine yet hoping for this weekend
