I'm restoring a 1974 TX650A, replaced all the wheel bearings, but noticed something was not right with the left side rear bearing. The axle is 20mm, the bearing id is 25mm. I have looked at a parts breakdown and see the top hat spacer and the middle spacer, which I am missing. Can anyone tell me why the left side bearing needs to have that spacer instead of just using a bearing that has a 20mm id? And does anyone know where I can find those spacers?
thanks,

I'd say eBay is your best bet. 650Central sells the top hat spacer. Not sure anyone sells the tube spacer. You probably threw the original top hat spacer away with the old bearing, happens all the time. Guys leap, then look, lol.

Jeez, they should know that wheel bearings need that spacer between them. They might not be familiar with the top hat spacer in the left bearing, that's sort of an oddball set-up. I wouldn't go to that shop any more.
