I hardly ever get colds since retiring because I've become kind of a recluse to my home & shop domain, at least in the Wintertime.

I can however, always count on my social butterfly wife to bring me home some sickness every now and again. After all, she brought me home Covid in January 2022, from which I never fully recovered...constant dizziness and screaming tinnitus afterwards still to this day. Gone to numerous specialists and vestibular rehabilitation therapists to try to get my equilibrium back and its gotten better, but certainly not pre-covid better.

Anyway, she once again blessed me last week with that new respiratory virus crap that's going around. She always gets sick first, bounces right back and heads back out into the world but not me....it hits me harder, longer, etc...

I've had this over a week now, starts in your chest with lots of coughing, phlegm, etc then works its way to your sinuses...kinda backwards from a normal cold.

I think I'm turning the corner finally but starting to get a sinus infection now....yay, lucky me. Havent felt like posting much lately cause this stuff has takin the wind outta my sails for a bit.

Not trying to be a whiner, just letting ya'all know Im still here and reading...just havent felt like posting much lately. I'll be back...

Same here, colds and flue have little affect on me. Spent time with my Grandchildren for the last 2 years..............yep got a virus from them both times that hung around with coughing, with a sore throat then could feel it getting into my chest. Flemy but managed to shake them both times after about a week - ten days.

Apparently because of the covid lock-downs and other measures taken the flu didn't have much of an affect for a couple of years. A new strain has emerged with coughing lasting for weeks that is very hard to shake, Mainly affects children. with some adult crossovers and it is so bad and hard to shake, and more than should be, some children are having to go on antibiotics to get rid of it.

look after yourself. These flu/colds are dangerous

I’ve had a bad cough for a couple of weeks and today is the first day it seems to be leaving me. Had a sore throat for a couple of days but no other symptoms. Just seems as you get older it’s harder to shake these things off. A distant friend had this cough for a while, saw the doctor and doc said he’d just have to give it time to get over it. No meds, just time. The doc called it the 100 day cough.

@Vincenthdfan hope you're well soon.

Yup - I have been struggling with that danged cold since just after Christmas - bloody tiresome.

After a few weeks, I went to the doctor and got some antibiotics and the gooey greenish stuff stopped within a few days but the waking-up sneezing and the annoying dry cough have continued for more than a month.

Exhausting.

Hope you feel better soon Vincent

...and Charles - what is NAC?

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I feel like I am starting to turn the corner finally.

Lungs are clearing up nicely, trying to avoid a sinus infection by flushing my nose with saline/water solution multiple times a day...so far, so good.

Still feeling a little wobbly yet but I'm fighting it. ;)👍
