Valve grinding compound.

Neway is the poor mans cutter.
For softer seats they work great if speed/feeds are happy.
Gotta get close on seat widths with the throat and top cuts and then, the compound may be in order.
Pilots are avail.

Hard seat? fergettaboutit.

Serti or old sckool grind wheels in the hands of a pro is proper.

I've not had a Neway fail to cut a proper seat in a powersports head; I've got about $1500 in my Neway box and that covers XS650 and CB750 (and whatever might also fit that range, apparently BSA too). A Serdi machine starts at ~$20,000 I reckon most DIYers would pass. So, pick your poison...

Yup, borrowed it from JP. Used it to recut the seats on the BSA Victor after I replaced the guides. Worked like a champ... smooth as butter. :smoke:
The pro shops can (apparently) scoff at it, but for a DIYer it's just the ticket.

Thanks again Jeff.
