Valve lash gets larger as the engine warms up

My 79 special sounds like a coffee can full of stones. The engine has been professionally rebuilt top to bottom.It runs great and has power to spare. After adjusting the cam chain and valves several times as per the book,(00 2.4 and 0.06) today after a 5 mile run I checked the valves again but with a hot engine.I found my intakes at 0.05 and exsaust at 0.08. so the gap gets larger ?????? IS THIS NORMAL ??????
MAYBE THAT IS CAUSING ALL THE RACKET ??????:

Should be .002" intake cold and .006" exhaust cold or .05mm intake cold and .15mm exhaust cold
