Whaaaaaa?

Greetings! New XS owner here. I've been scouring the threads for something I cannot wrap my head around. Here's the gist of what I see:

1980SG with 34CV carbs.
On intake side there is a main jet. My questions are these:
Are they the same size as the mains in float?
SHOULD they be?
Do they HAVE to be?
Also, Mike's does not list this size on his site. What to do?

I am in the process of adding pods and have upgraded the main and pilot jets respectively. I AM somewhat of a novice but if this is totally wrong or I am missing something let the abuse begin!
On another note, Thanks for the site info as I found what the floats should be set at and other great tips!

There's only one main jet per carb. You might be describing the air jet. I think 135 was stock on that but not positive.

Ahhh yes that makes sense! Should these be changed as well when converting to pods? Or no?

leave the air jets alone. just clean em out.

Changing the jet down 1 would be like upping the pj a half. Or shimming the needle.
It can be used to tune.
And they are the same as the small round mains.
