What do you guys think of this do-it-yourself hardtail kit?

Looks like a nice kit for the price. The axle plates are 3/4, so you wont be using a XS axle. And the tube is 1" i personally prefer 1 1/8" Other than that, looks nice.
 
Plus that kit (and mine) won't help with the offset needed in the tubes for a 180 tire. I doubt the tubes in that kit are DOM and the "legs" are short so you are more limited on drop and stretch. Lastly, 1" tube would look funny on an XS650 in my opinion. 1-1/8" looks better.

I might as well mention it now, per a request from a member, in about a week I'll have axle plates with 3/4" slots.
 
Go with Gary Poh offset kit, great guy very helpful.

You also need to buy a compatible rear sprocket if you use a harley rear, which Gordonscott on here has in stock.
