What do you use to cover the bearings on a DNA springer

I thought this was used to hide/cover the bearings extruding on the top. Well I never test fitted it till now (final assembly) and it does not fit :\

It looks good but I shaved down the nut and now it hits on the upper triple tree.
 
woops. Even if you could do without the cover, the tree would hit the bearing.
not alot of meat in that area for grinding for clearance either.
 
Maybe I can help a little bit here. The piece you are trying to use is actually the speedo drive cover for a H-D wheel. So it will not work. You can reuse your original XS bearing cover but you will need to sand just a tad bit off the inside of the leg as the stock cover is just a smidge to large. Hope this helps.
 
I have installed 15 of them and i think you got it installed wrong something doesn't look right. I will pull up some of my pictures and look. I don't think i used that cover just the big washer that came with it. Should sit lower. I think we ran into the same problem with the first one. Did you also drill out the stem allen bolt otherwise the stud will move. Email me at DADDYGCYCLES@YAHOO.COM and i will get you some pictures.
