I am wondering what manual I should order, What is better I suppose, Im looking at the clymer manual 650 twins and the haynes, Are there others or should I get both, Im new to all this and need as much help as I can get. THanks

Guess I should be more specific, Plan on doing a bobber, I know I have to replace rings so motor break down and electrical are my two main concerns.

I think most of us prefer the factory manual. Used copies can be had from eBay. It is on-line for free at biker.net. Most of us also have at least one of the aftermarket offerings to go along with it. Honestly, I feel the more manuals you have, the better.

There are small mistakes in just about all of them. It helps to have several to cross-reference between. Then you can also ask here if something isn't clear or the info is conflicting. Once again, I'm going to recommend the factory manual. I've worn mine about dog-eared and had to tape the cover back on, lol. My Haynes is still in great shape.

Every manual will have something the others don't have. On aircooled VW's alone, I have at least a dozen manuals. A Haynes has specs, proceedures and pics of things the Chilton or factory don't and vice versa.

I also use these online references

I have also done a pictorial on my engine rebuild. I have tried to add things that I wasn't sure about as I'm sure others would have had the same doubts! Lots of illustrated pictures to along the build.

And read ALL the threads concerning any problems you think you may encounter along the way, that also helped me a lot.
