What's with Ardcore Choppers?

Finally received an email from Ardcore today explaining that they are pretty much working 7 days a week trying to catch up on orders and the reason for the backlog is a significant delay from their supplier that CNC 's the axle plates for the Ardtails. They say orders are running approximately 1-2 weeks behind the initial quoted turnaround time. Now that's all I needed to hear so that I know what's going on. A little communication goes a log way and could possibly give people some confidence in them.

are they in there new shop yet?

i ordered their cadillac tail light in january. when it was time to ship my hardtail, i was told that the lens was cracked and they would be sending that later. Well, its now april and i have the entire fab work done on my bike and am ready for powder and i STILL do not have the tail light.

At this point id rather just get my money back for the light and get one elsewhere

All of this is very sad to hear. I liked the idea of their no fuss hardtail. I guess I will be shopping elsewhere. Thanks for posting this info guys, you are saving the rest of us a bunch of $$ and headaches.

Isn't there a member in the area that knows their status? Surely someone lives near their shop. Are the doors still open?

I got ahold of them today, they said they were swamped.

I got a refund on the tail light so i can order one online.

They are stand up guys, just seem a bit over their heads at the moment

I've seen this exact scenario play out at least 30-40 times with various businesses over the last 10 years or so. Back then it was the people welding turbo manifolds for hondas, now the bike scene. So many companies start up, then realize that the demand is over their potential for supply, but instead of actually admitting that they just continue to take orders and hope eventually they'll catch up. Unfortunately the demand is still going strong, and they fall further and further behind. What was once prompt e-mail replies and fast shipping turns into the thread you see here. Most always the companies are made of stand up guys that genuinely want to do the right thing, but that doesn't help the people who have been waiting for 10 weeks after they paid for the product.

I hope everything gets worked out for everyone who bought from them, and maybe they'll catch back up and get things sorted out, but in the meantime my admonition to any company in that situation is to be HONEST about your ability to meet the demand. If you can't meet your published times as far as delivery dates you MUST be up front about that when the order is made. The customer HAS to be aware of a PROPER time frame. All these companies keep telling people two weeks, then ten weeks later it's still "two weeks" (Side note: to anyone who has seen the movie "Money Pit" you know what I'm talking about.)

Most all of us who order fabricated products realize that there is going to be a wait period, and are willing to wait even in excess of 3-4 weeks for something. But DO NOT tell us that it's going to be 2 weeks, then deliver in 4! or 10, 12, etc..

Sorry for the rant, I've just seen this happen so many times to so many people. It gets old, the same mistakes made time after time.

I'm in the same boat here, I ordered the DIY Hardtail on the 15th of Feb, the monay was taken shortly after and I still haven't got it, I managed to get in touch about 3 weeks ago and was told it had just been dispatched....

Any news on how long it takes to get a hardtail in the UK would be useful, stalagmites grow quicker than this frame....

maybe they need to find a new machine shop for the axle plates. I know of a few that could water jet them out easy and fast.
I will be ordering a hardtail from them soon, but I don't mind the wait since I probably will be getting maybe a couple hours a week to work on this project (single dad 3 kids... well not single, wife is deployed in the military so single dad without the perks of
random woman lol)

Seems like some vendors receiving heat who cater to the XS would follow these sites and post a statement, defense, excuse or something to let people know whats up. They got to know a lot of XS folks come here. But then again, maybe they just don't care.

Guys I know some of you may not have access to a welder but Ardcore charges enough for those top fools to buy three DIY kits and you could make at least two sets of top fools per kit. Seeing the prices of some of this stuff kills me because I'm a welder and know very well they are ( $apping ). I understand they are in it to make money but damn! If anyone would like to, I have a spare xs motor and frame, find me the specs and I can mock pipes up on it as long as you're going to wrap em. I'm a pipe welder ( tig specialist) 6G certified x-ray quality! Hit me up if I can help any one out

I also had a very bad time dealing with them...took them 12 weeks to get my tail to me after many times of calling and raising hell!!! Jon said he would send me a plain seat pan and some hardware for my very long wait and guess what , it didnt come with the tail!!! So I can say I will never be dealing with them again. I dont care that your CNC went down ( I got the same excuse) if your welding 5 a day 7 days a week at 375 a tail!!!! you do the math ...hire another guy!!!

5 hardtails in a day is kind of dogging it if they are jigged. I'm also a qualified Tig welder and I do much larger items every day and I'm expected to put out betwen 10-15 peices.
The peices I do have 64 weld per unit.

It took 10 weeks for me to receive my tail. Jon from ardcore told me they were having trouble with their CNC supplier who makes the axle plates. I am glad that I waited though. Very nice welds and great fit.

Got my shipping tracking number Monday for my ardtail, 13 weeks. I'm not in a big hurry so as long as the quality is top notch I'm not to worried. I can understand people being upset with there turn around times, but I knew it would take longer than quoted. Still they should be a little more realistic.

Well I got my hardtail the other day that I waited 13 weeks for and it was worth the wait. The build quality is excellent. If you dont mind waiting for it the ardtail is an excellent choice. Now that I waited 13 weeks to get it, it'll probably take me even longer to find the time to install it:laugh:

Hi guys, i am from the Netherlands. Lead time should be 5 weekt at time of order. I am waiting 23 weeks now, and can't get a hold on them per phone or email. I am not saying this is a scam and ardcore will probably manufacture nice parts but this isnt right. I am very disapointed and hope i will see my order once. Cheers GJ

That's a long time. Maybe they should have stayed in the old building.
