6"-7" of snow, 18deg at 5 AM. Headed for the mid 20s today - single digits tonight. Seems the clocks may have fallen back but the calendar appears to have jumped forward. Feels like mid January...WTF!!
20 degrees when I went out this morning. My car doors were frozen shut. WTH! We get extreme hot, then cold.Rain just stopped. 45° and dropping to low 20's tonight. There will be flurries in N. GA. I can't complain too much, cause I'm from Jersey.
Hahahahaha!!! Current temperature: 27*. It stopped snowing (for the moment), but by this time tomorrow, we'll have 6-10" (probably 10+.They don't call this region "the snow belt" for nothing. We get a weather phenomena here called "lake effect", where the arctic jet stream dips, and picks up moisture from Lake Ontario - which almost never freezes completely - and dumps it on us. Parts of the Tug Hill Plateau get 200+ inches per year. "...But it's soooo pretty!..." Gimme a f***ing break!
I was salmon fishing in Pulaski one September and saw some houses with doors on their second floors, with no stairs or balconies and asked someone why. They said, "Sometimes you can't get out the first floor, so you have to jump out the second floor onto a drift."Hahahahaha!!! Current temperature: 27*. I used to work in Bangor often. I remember I was supposed to go home, but diverted to Bangor due AOG aircraft. That was the coldest I ever was. It was -27F with 7 knots of wind. Me working outside in a leather jacket and a fedora. I won't likely ever forget that. I've been out in colder temperatures, but Maine has a special kind of extreme damp cold.Yeah, looking for property on our honeymoon in Maine many years ago, we were surprised at the amount of homes with ladders attached to the building sides going up to the second floor. The missus, with mixed Mediterranean ancestry and a penchant for warm beaches, asked a realtor from the Farmington area how cold it got. "Oh, about 40." he said. "40? That's not too bad." she replied. "40 below." he clarified.........

We went to Warrensburgh, NY to go xc-skiing in the mountains near there, and stayed at a Super 8. Overnight it dropped to 35 below. As soon as the sun came up the temp went up to around 2 degrees. Six of us who were staying at the motel marched to Napa Auto Parts to buy batteries. Ever since, whenever I buy a battery, I always get the highest cold cranking amps available.I used to work in Bangor often. Happy birthday! Enjoy Key West! Yeah, good old Craftsman impact driver. Broke my heart when my '67 Beetle got stolen with a whole craftsman box of tools in the trunk. Now, I just carry some junky tools in the cars.Hey, I have that same impact wrench! Bought it in 1970.
Oh, and today it's 44°F and crappy. Might rain, might not. Who cares, I'm leaving for Key West tomorrow. It's my birthday present from my wife! Yeah, I'll let her come with me. "Toes in the water, ass in the sand,... cold beer in my hand!"
This mornings sunrise in Surprise. 52 degrees and I was out walking the dog.

Gee, that's lovely... I didn't realize how nice it can be in Az., Partly due to what my boss once told me. His daughter moved there when she got married and everyone in their neighborhood had chickens, because chickens would eat the scorpions. This mornings sunrise in Surprise. 52 degrees and I was out walking the dog.
