HI Guys
I bought some bare (no bearings) mag wheels from a 1981 xs650 with loose spacers.

I now have new bearings and seals but do not know which way to fit the spacers.
I would like to know:

REAR (Spacer A):
Does the hat side go on the sproket or disk side?

FRONT (Spacer B):
Does the hat side go on the speedo side or the non speedo side.

I have found a exploded diagramof the rear wheel. Is the part i have items number 4 and 5?

Thanks in advance guys.
-Andy

Yes, the parts you have are #4 and #5 in your drawing. I don't think it really matters which side the collar is on. On the ones I've done, the collar was actually centered, not at one end. You may be missing an important part of the assembly though, part #6. This is a top hat shaped spacer that fits into the left wheel bearing from the rear. It sleeves the bearing I.D. down so it fits on your axle and also, the lip on the back combines with spacer #4 to give the correct spacing between the wheel bearings. The wheel will not work without it.

And if #6 is missing it's available here;

No longer available from Yamaha, this shouldered collar fits in the left side
6305 bearing to reduce it to 20mm. It replaces part # 90387-20166-00
All years.
#DCEN90-38720..... $26.00
