went out for a ride since it finally is getting nice out and i just was taking it a couple blocks to the store. on my way back it started bogging out and puffing out white smoke from the carbs. what would cause it? i also seen that there was air bubbles in my gas line and it was not filling my fuel filter almost like it was clogged i have the bs34's on my xs. any thoughts?

thanks.

Is there any smoke coming out of your exhaust? or just the carbs? Age of fuel in the tank? I would remove the tank and rinse in out if it is old. Lawnmower fuel now. Usually the white smoke I have gotten from a carbs was due to water in the tank. Clean the petcock and geat a new filter.
If there is white smoke from the exhaust that would lead to a failing valve seal.

volcom8877;

Seeing an air space in the fuel filter is normal.My bike has that all the time.

What is the general condition of your engine? i.e. What is the compression of both cylinders? Is the timing correct? Are the carbs tuned? What is the colour of the spark plugs? etc.
