Wiring aftermarket neutral switch

I'm running new mini gauges (NOT the ones with the indicator LEDs from MikeXS) and I'd like to wire up a neutral light that I've mounted inside headlight shell. Just a small green LED (see attached photo) with red/black wires. Wiring diagram shows original wires for neutral lightbulb as brown/light blue. Assuming black would to to brown (ground) and light blue to red? Does that make sense?

just the opposite. The sky blue wire goes to the neutral switch that shorts to ground when in neutral. the bikes brown wire goes to red. The bikes sky blue goes to black on led.
