xs 400 carbs on an xs 650

Will the carbs swap from a 400 to 650 they are both 81`s
Are they spaced the same with the bracket thats on the 400?
They are both bs 34 but fuel inlet is on left side and throttle adjustment screw is center only.
The carbs on the 650 have some vac. leak issues
also has anone succesfully replace throttle shaft seals?
Thats where i`m getting vac leak.
I just want to swap them to see an improvement

Also are lectron carbs worth there price?

The carb spacing of the XS400 is different than the XS650.

Yes it is mentioned it several threads. Search throttle shaft seals.

I have done several throttle shaft seal replacements. It requires patience and lots of care to not strip the butterfly screws. They also have to be restaked and the stakes are high, engines HATE eating small screws. If you are not the careful patient type, best leave the job to someone else.

Personally, I don't think it's worth the time and effort. You would have to change the brackets to change the spacing. Then you would have to change the throttle shafts to make the linkage mate up again. That puts you right back where you are now - having to remove the shafts. I'd use the 400 carbs for parts and fix your 650 ones.
