No, they're different sizes (diameters) so no way to adapt them. There were also two different BS38 slides. The difference between the two is in how the needle mounts inside, also how high up in the slide it sits. In '77 and older slides, a shorter 4 series needle was used because it sits down lower in the slide. The '78-'79 slides use a longer 5 series needle because it sits up higher in the slide (on top of a little spring). On both slide types, the amount of needle hanging out the bottom ends up being about the same. The BS38 slides will swap with each other but you will need to use the appropriate needle with it, and maybe it's matching needle jet too.

thanks, only ever had the 256 and 447 models , thought might be as you said but thought would check up first .. cruz only has the later model bs38 ones in stock

No, I think they only have BS34 ones. We put some in my buddy's spare BS34s and so far, they're working well. They are very reasonably priced, only about $20 each.

It's usually pretty hard to find the late model ('78-'79) BS38 slide/diaphragms, probably because they were only used for those couple years. Nobody seems to be reproducing them. You can find and buy BS34 and early BS38 ones all day long.

They have never had the slides for BS38's. only the 34's. Possibly the next best is the JBM Industries diaphragms. If you buy 2 set it makes them cheaper through less shipping cost
