XS400 to an XS650?

Doing some carb work for a guy later today on his 82 XS400 to get it running. He said he had another XS400 at home with just the frame with front forks, seat and engine and I just had a thought!
Would it be possible to put an XS650 motor in the XS400 frame without tons of modification? Would the mounts be different and would an aftermarket hardtail kit work?
Or should we just build an xs400 chopper with the frame?

Just chop a 400. The engine swap wont work. The xs650 motor is alot taller,

I realized that once he brought the bike over to my garage the swap wouldn't work. Looks like a simple carb rebuild for his bike and some minor wiring, as payment he said I could have the donor bike, an 1979 XS400, with clean title and a box of parts. Sounds like a basket case to me but it will be free so why not.
