XS650 cafe seat on 650 Special

I wanted an older XS650 but found an '83 Heritage Special for a decent price. IMHO the older XS makes a better looking Cafe. The lower edge of the seat and the side panels provide a better look. I did find some vacuum formed side panels on E-Bay that seemed to be for the look I'm going after. Can't find them now. The bigger problem is the seat design. I know the two different bikes have different seat mounts. Has anyone modified the '83 stock seat to have a straight lower edge?

Check with http://www.roccitycafe.com/store.php I believe he can fab up a really nice cafe seat that is based on a later model XS650 frame.
