When those scramblers came out in 1961, the local Honda owner invited about 10 of us motorcyclist's? to try them out at our "Sunshine Scramblers" area for 2 days. It was an incredible time I will always remember. I had my Tiger Cub at the time.
BTW: It turned out to be a great move, the owner, Ray, sold all the scramblers he could get from Honda. :)
 
I’ve been watching for one of those in my area a while too. Something very different about the sound of the cl77 motor over the cb/cl350’s.

Both are 180° crank twins that rev to the moon. The main difference is the sound of the intakes. The CB uses constant velocity carbs... like our XS does. The 305 uses plain old VM carbs. If you put the VM carbs on the CB, they sound almost identical.... at least that was my experience with 'em. :shrug:
