Yamaha XS650 sump filter plate

The link in the opening post of this thread is about what I did, but I don't have a milling machine so I cleaned the sump plate very well and filled the fins around the hole with JB Weld
I liked the way it worked and got a lot of questions asked about it. The one thing I didn't like was the cost of the filters.
I went back to a stock plate and filter. Cleaning the stock filter isn't hard. I have an extra plate and several filters. At oil changes I just swap a clean filter on the spare plate. Then clean the dirty when I have time, so it's ready for the next oil change.

thanks DB . I got the impression that the Heiden kit required no modifications to your cover which is why I wondered how they achieved that.
