My XS on last tour :D (inspired by Kenny Roberts flat track). I really love how it look today.

Too much changes from the last pick:

luvit luvit luvit
I'm as sick of seeing Kenny Rogers lookalikes as I am seeing the never ending bobbers and chops but the beautiful blue colour saves it for me:D

It just looks sooo right..... Simple, elegant and utalitarian beautiful. I'd really like to get some of those bars for mine ,maybe create a street tracker /cruiser with forward controls .Could you give me the dimensions or make & model of the bars

thanks nvr2late
Thats an excellent selection . I should be able to find something suitable there.:wink2:
I'd better start planning and making some lists of parts needed .

Shameless picture repost :)

you have no shame Yoozy :D

What bars do you have on that ? I'm looking for some bars that are a similar shape and angle to my stock Special ape hangers but about 4-6" lower.
The more loose bars I see the more difficult it is to choose one unless I can see it fitted to a bike .

Cheers pal, my mate gave them me. Off an old triumph he reckoned, had them lying around a while. They are almost identical to the stock ones that my XS special came with but a tad swoopier.

I did have some Renthal 613 on that are sweepy and lower than XS ones but they are black and I preferred chrome, pretty tracker likey though imho.

yeah those renthals are nice but much too expensive for me .
How would you say those bars of yours would suit forward controls?
What I'm looking to achieve is a cruising position but with lower hand positions than the stock ape hangers.

I want downward angled grips (which are imo the more natural and comfortable position for hands), which would probably eliminate the majority of tracker bars which tend to be angled slightly upward.

Be OK a reckon. I usually have my bars pulled back a fair bit. Not easy getting the right bars though is it. Worse than being out with our Maud buying wallpaper.

Peanut, maybe you could cook-up something using some old "flexible gooseneck tubing", or a length of flexible copper tubing. Flex/form it to suit your fitment, then you at least have something to measure, like the width, rise, bend, drop...

oh god ...not the wallpaper :yikes: frock....hat.....shoes........

thats not a bad idea twomany except it might prove expensive with the copper tubing .You'd only get one chance with each length :wink2:
I'm pretty sure what I want shape and height and pull wise etc but the vast majority of sellers do not put any dimensions on their bars and still less would know how to use a tape measure !

yeah I saqw those !:wink2: they look like they might be close to what I'lk looking for but £40 quid is a lot to take a chance on.i've already got two handlebars I bought that turned out to be unsuitable.
its difficult to visualize all the angles sometimes .

How come you guys don't stop me before I go to "just look" but take the van?

2 75's as bought.jpg

2 nearly complete 75s two extra engines, 1 75 is titled with a bill of sale for the rest of it (from a police auction) One license plate is 1990 the other 1984. Guy was 72, his wife made him quit riding in 90 when he fell asleep with her on the back! Had to park the van around the house up a 10' grass hill, the wheels all were a bit stiff and hard to roll. Ended up finding a "neighbor guy" to help drag haul and load.

yeah ...I'm not jealous .......

Thats a dream score Gary congratulations :wink2:
