Hi FJZR04 thank you... yes I will be looking to change out the front end and swingarm so I can run disc brake spokes. The mags are holding out it's more about the limited choice of dual purpose tire for the 16'

Here is my brand new(to me) 1980 XS650. I've been waiting years to own one of these. All it needs so far is: a gas cap, side covers, air filters, ignition, fix rocky starter, fix sticky throttle cable and directional relay. I'll definitely do some suspension work when I can. I'd like to get some lower bars. I'll be on the forums a lot. You people have put up some great information. Any other 650 owners in VT hit me up!

My first bike build...'75 xs 650, took me more than 2 years to put together in my garage. I'm temporarily calling her the mistress, cause my wife almost booted me a few times cause of her...this is a before and then after photos

Taaa mate. It is a really natural position, fits this fat lad nice. The seat is surprisingly comfortable seeing it's so thin

    Nice, scaf77!

What seat is that? I've got a new (non-Yamaha  ) project that I'm thinking will go in a cafe' direction.

    Thanks
The seat is a one off made with fiberglass. I carved the mold out of flower foam.

Thanks for the reply. I've watched a couple of Ewe Toob videos on that process, I might have to give it a try.
