I know about scraping, but does someone have a magic way to get old, nasty, crusty, stuck gasket pieces off? Is there an old school trick or special spray that anyone knows about or is it just good ole elbow grease?

The kind that will give you cancer if you breathe while using it. MEK
A heat gun makes a big difference but not WITH the paint stripper.

We're a dying breed Royboy.

I think it was Jay Leno's mechanics that were lamenting not being to buy carbon tetrachloride anymore. He said that stuff will kill you. They replied yeah but it works so good!

There are actually gasket remover sprays out there, try napa maybe? Like above ,a heat gun works decent on most, Then one of those velcro scotch pads that fit a small drill to clean up.Paint remover works about the same as gasket spray remover. Walmart use to have an aircraft remover that removes epoxy paint, so it takes off just about anything

Elbow grease!

Hard to find these days.

Most of the younger generation seem to have difficulty locating it.

Ask at any hardware store.
