I am getting old and need to buy or make a lift to get the engine off my work table and to get it on the bench. Does anyone have a lift to do this or know one I can buy?
Thanks.

Watch Craigslist or FB for hoyer patient lifts, sometimes found really cheap, they'll lift up to 350lbs are light and portable.

I ran when I saw one for $15 LOL put in 5 or 6 bike motors with it so far.

I don't put motors on my work bench, I have a rolling service cart I pulled out of a dumpster at work .....

All I need do is lift the motor straight up, then I can roll the cart in and out from under it. I use a block and tackle or a cable hoist. A small chain hoist would work as well but I don't have one. Or, if I have a helper, we just lift the motor onto or off of the cart using the lift handles I made .....

I did a little bracing to the rafters above my garage ceiling , mounted a big eye bolt , bought an inexpensive chain hoist from EBay and it makes lifting a motor absolutely effortless. I could literally do it with a coffee in one hand.
I’ve used it to R+R my XS2 motor a couple times now. Probably less than $60 in the whole shebang, best money I ever spent. Since the hoist hangs from a fixed position, it depends on me being able to scootch my workbench under it, which I can no problem.
