Xs2 left handside control

I need a new left hand side light switch for my xs2,does anyone know what
Might be a suitable replacement.
The original one has 8 wires coming out of it ,the newer ones that I have seen for sale
Seem to have 3 or 4 wires and a block connector with them.
Will a later type be adaptable to use ?
