can someone explain to me what's happening in the intake of the carb, and basically the whole bike

Drag-bike; extreme rear rearset placement and tiny fuel tank are the major giveaways. Other clues are the apparent lack of an alternator (total-loss electrical system), minimal brakes, large shift-light, etc.

Reversed-flow head (intake on front, exhaust on back); less cooling airflow onto the exhaust side, but some theoretic "ram-air" effect for the intake side. The tennis-ball thingies stuck in the intake velocity stacks are just there to keep crap out while the bike is parked.

I always thought air in the front exhaust out the back seemed logical but figured there must be good reasons for the way it is. Cool bike.

prob just set up to run off the battery juice.since he is only going a 1/4 mi at a time, removing all the charging componets can save weight. prob pulled the kicker too and use a shove on starter at the crank. i dont see the battery but it may be pretty small.
