Do Bobbers handle?

The OP clearly had Brat style as his question. Post #2 was just stating his opinion of Brat style bikes, and that was just fine, as these forums are all about opinions. The fact remains that Post #3, chose to go defensive and through out the word "hardtail", similar to waving a red flag in front of a bull, which started a chain reaction, and was totally unnecessary.
I just re read the original post and I can't see how or why this thing went off the rails like it did , I know I didn't say anything out of line or mean spirited. Seems like the hard tail fans are just a little too sensitive . Sure, some of us laugh at your bobber/chopper/ whatevers but that is only because they are funny looking .

youre driving the wrong way, turn it around!

it all depends, bratstyle has rear shocks so that helps, but what are your handle bars like, where is your center of gravity? how low or high do you sit? i feel like i can lean into a corner a lot further and feel safer on a bike that i sit lower in unlike a stocker. being comfortable in the head has a lot to do with it as well. if your arms fall asleep due to position, or your balls are aching because the seat is too wide then your mind is on other things. go out and test ride a bunch of new bikes to get a feel of how you want your position to be and then go from there. like someone said, i think it was gggary; these bikes are 40 years old. they'll ride like them.

I can't comment directly but my best guess is they don't handle very well. Why would I say such a thing? Maybe because you guys are reverting back to '20's, '30's, and '40's tech? How could you think this would be better?

Now back to my opening line. I've never ridden one of these "contraptions" (and believe me, that's what I consider them to be). But ..... I want to. You guys have corrupted me, lol. Handle? Who gives a shit. As long as it goes straight when you give it the gas, I could could live with it, lol.

A lot of this can be put down to lost in translation.

Link to Brat Style;(Click on Custom bike), Is a company, (not a specific style of bike), in Japan, that makes these bikes. Japan doesn't allow hard-tails so these guys have built bikes ranging from trail across the range of cruisers, cafe, to hard-tail lookalikes and they are from Brat Style.

Once a style craze is born then it becomes a life of its own and the original meaning is lost to the craze.

Bobber's were a modified, (To cut weight off the bike), version of bikes in the 40's and 50's Because bikes in those days were of a ridged frame people now relate them to a hard-tail.

Choppers were a cut/altered/rebuilt frame to replace the shocks and install a hard-tail and usually rake the front and these bikes started there life in the 60's and 70's.

Now any bike that has a frame cut is called a chopper/bobber and any hard-tail is called a chopper/bobber and any bobber/cafe style of bike is called a Brat.

If the styles cannot be defined as they were when they became the style they were in their time, how can so many get so offended of defensive about something that is called something, when they don't really know if they have it or not.:banghead::laugh:

Actually, the chopper was originally more like a tracker , just take off every piece you could to lighten the bike . Harley even used " chopper" on stock sportsters back in the early '60s (maybe even earlier ,IDK) the "CH" in "XLCH" stands for chopped, that model was bare bones. Bobbers were the same idea, just hack off some of the exess factory tin .

The long front end craze came later , but the original idea of changing the front end configuration was to improve ride and handling , then the artsy fartsy crowd started making fashion statements out of motorcycles and decided shocks looked to butch or something . I think the LSD and shit had a lot to do with the bikes that were being built back in the '60s and '70s too.

Both you and the Japanese need a black President. Just look what he's done for us, lol. Honestly, I can't believe anybody voted for the guy.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet paraphrasing Willy Shakespeare

Scrambled, your post popped up between mine and Skull's. That may be why it didn't fit. I've edited mine but still feel the way I do. I can't believe the country has let itself get this way. And I can't believe people elected that asshole TWICE. Nobody I ever asked voted for him. Is this a fix somewhere? I think so. And he's fucking Hilary, I just know it, lol.

Yes, obviously there's a reason politic discussions are not allowed, lol. Forgive me for my transgression. There's nothing wrong with me and I see nothing "racist" in what I said. We have a slick talking black guy running our country. He has publicly stated that he will circumvent the Congress to get what he wants. And he's doing it. It doesn't matter what color he is. This is wrong. Thank God he'll be gone soon. I know, they'll build him a library, but being a construction worker, I absolutely refuse to work on it. However, I will go there and label the vent pipes in all the Porta-Potties with my "signature" "FART MUFFLER" label. I do that on every job so don't think it's anything special. I'm not doing it for him (he should be so lucky).

Yes, how 'bout we tax the churches? I pay taxes, you pay taxes, but they don't. What's up with that? Freedom of religion I get. Freedom from paying taxes I don't get. If they get it, I want it too, simple as that.
