Mikuni VM slide carbs for xs650

If you weren't senile maybe you could heed advice and learn how Google works. Why spend a ton of time re typing the exact same things over and over when it been well documented and archived. It can be found faster than anyone can retype it.

I gave legit advice earlier. Now you can GFY.

What could I expect from a stinkin' Canuck?
Not much...
By the way, this is my thread so get the fuckkkkkkkkk off it.

So let me get this straight. If a fellow, senile or not, comes onto this site and seeks banter and info from, "friends", then that fellow better heed the rule that no one asks questions without referring to google and then being DIRECTED to see a bunch of information put up by the GURU's of the motorcycle world....Maybe XS650 dot com should put that at the forefront of their admittance page to this site.
If you limp dix think you are going to run me off with your ingracious invasion of my thread, you have another thing coming.

I am thinking of using some new VM slide carburetion for my xs650. Has anyone got any experience with this?

What size jetting, venturi, etc...

Let's reread this to begin with, he asked if anyone has? That clearly indicates he wasn't aware. That's no foul on him. He was genuinely curious, he didn't deserve smart ass responses. You can say what you want, my father is 64, I'm walking him through using the web all the time. A simple post of yes and a link would have been best.

On the other side of things, this whole trying to justify yourself online is pointless. You mentioned face to face which this will never be. I provided the link, use it. You're adults gentleman, don't think we need to go over the golden rule again.

LMAO

This thread is an example of why your local dealers parts person laughs at you when you turn around. "Another XSExual"

An award-winning atmosphere

Thank you , Leo. BTW, the VM section of the Carb Guide was my work alone. I've also written XS/TX650 Carburetors: A Manual for the Yamaha 650 Society. It's an illustrated 26-page manual and includes trouble shooting symptoms and cures, with a review of many aftermarket carbs and a section on VM's; order from the Society.

"Has anyone got any experience with this?" Why Hell no, Opie, we just make this stuff up as we go along.

Gents, another explanation of asking many times asked and answered questions occurs to me. Maybe what we have here is an example of posting just to raise post count, commonly known as "post whoring."

And Opie, where you're concerned you can bet I'll keep my words to myself. I'd make sure you could never find a word I've written if I could do it.

I had some time to read this. I can only say your ego is putting a lot of new and inexperienced XS650 on the wrong path. There are misfacts, overlooked items and even down right improper procedures. Ironically the, #1 DIY issue with carbs IMO and experience with customers, is overlooked and r3placed with a half hacked way.

So, please save your "I'm GOD" ego stuff after you learn some humility and edit your BLOG to contain proper procedures and methods.

The funny thing is, as I have learned the hard way MANY times, once you learn enough to ask intelligent questions, that grumpy old guy can be very helpful and often is only one with enough experience to give "good" answers. After demonstrating I might be a bit more than just a "mouth" I was "invited" to ride a certain member's "Very well fettled" XS650 Saturday. It's amazing how much some people know about making a sows ear run/ride like a silk purse! :wink2:
PS even riding 2 up, that member stayed right with others "making good time" on more than 100 miles of VERY enjoyable twisties!

I will guess that Mr Yeats will stick it out and become a valuable asset here in his own right.

I once saw a sign from the back of a dealerships customer service counter hanging above it that read: "There's an ass for every seat!" :yikes:

LOL apparently they made that sign before Yamaha painted that Mid 90's Virago mustard yellow and burgundy.......They sat in the showroom below cost for 3 years.

chilzler do you have any information you want to share or just full of worthless bs.

This means nothing you are saying nothing with that . what mis-facts what down right improper procedures. Just like your terminology .. I don't talk the talk but my 70hp dyno walks the walk..

Sorry if you don't understand my point. Where would you like to start?
The dead cylinder method?
The absence of a proper idle drop?
I didn't even read the whole thing. It's certainly not a "gospel" written by a professional. Great you made a 70hp xs650....How many have you sold? There's no market here due to all these egos.............that's my point.

My point is I don't care where you start just start. All threads are about the same.. some good info some bad . But I find most try to help. Statement like this does nothing good "This thread is an example of why your local dealers parts person laughs at you when you turn around. "Another XSExual"
If you have the knowledge then help those that don't.

And what have you contribute to in the xs650 community? When it comes to the carbs whether it be stock or aftermarket, suspension set-ups or the Xs in general, Griz has the knowledge and IMO the man to go to. When you have a member who openly admits that he's to damn lazy to to do his own research cuz time is short:wtf: is the world coming to a end that he needs a ride out,is he about to have stroke,no his anti cap is his is laziness. This forum is easily formatted for everyone who want's to research the archives for problems or of interest.
