XS650 chopped & Raked Lots of pics!

Let's not hear anybody bad mouthing Harbor Freight welders again. Tell them it's their skills that are lacking.

The only problem considering where you're trying to go is in the headlight arrangement. It looks too much like a fender adapted to that purpose. It looks better in the last pic because it looks less like that. It wouldn't take much change to fix it.

I have to agree with Pete. It needs a rear suspension. Otherwise I think it's like an easy way out instead of the achievement it could be. A futuristic bike will have a rear suspension - guaranteed :) A damn good rear suspension.

Yeah the fender look to the headlight assembly was what i was dreading. Im sure though once its all done, the details are in place, and its powdercoated,it will lose the fender look... i hope :D

As for the suspension, I just didn't want it. This is my first rigid build, that is what i set out to do. For me, throwing some cash at a suspension would have been a lot easier than building the jig bending some tube and fabricating the tail. This is just the look i wanted.

I am planning another build using a rear suspension based off the Kraus MC bike. But im not throwing that much cash and time into an XS project. I LOVE their setup...

The fender turned me off too, but the work is too good to form any solid opinions at the moment. I'm really looking forward to seeing the overall effect, and can't wait to see how/when/if you tie that headlight look into the ass-end and pull it all together.

Thanks for the share, brother. It's been a while since I've seen anything that really piqued my interest.

Unreal. By the way, hows things going over at NASA?

I assume TOILET is JOLIET? lol whats up man. Ive been on a bit of a break on this. Needed to step back and make it fun again. I'll have some more pics and goodies to share soon.

Haha! You got it. Where 80 and 55 start to swirl. I feel you on making it fun. I am at a stop also on my build. Maybe tonight it will change. I have been staring at your frame jig .....think im gonna make one myself. Is that something you came up with or did you find plans for it?

LOL! Too funny. the jig is a bit of a mix from some plans, pics, and finally it came together with the fixtures that were dictated by the XS frame. Real simple project. I was surprised how accurate i was able to get it without much hassle.

That being said, like an idiot i decided to re-weld the stand on it, and bowed my freaking main rails about a quarter inch. still works great, just have to keep that in mind when adjusting for the axle height... live and learn i guess.

If you dont want to re-invent the wheel, i can give you all the measurements.
