So on May 15th (3 weeks ago) I ordered a tensioner from monstercraftsman. A month or so before this recent order I ordered one as well and have since received it. When I ordered the first one, I got an immediate automated email about my order and a couple days later they withdrew the money from me. About a week went by and I heard nothing. I tried to email them just asking what was going on and how long it would take to get my order and they never responded. Two weeks or so after my order (and without ever responding to me) I finally got my tensioner.

On May 15th, I decided to get another one for my other bike. Kind of confused about the "no communication" and the length of time it took to get the first one, I chaulked it up to that they were busy or something and I decided to order another. It's 3 weeks later now from my new order and I still don't have my tensioner, they have my money, and I have no idea what is going on again. I've emailed them twice now just asking how long it's going to be and I get no response whatsoever. They have no phone number listed either or any other contact info.

So without getting too shitty about it, what the fuck is monstercraftsman's problem? Anyone else deal with this bullshit with them? You know, I don't mind waiting for motorcycle parts but at least have the common courtesy to have some communication with me about the fact that I'll be waiting for my shit. I'm a pretty easy going guy but I also work hard for my money and I feel like my money also paid for a little communication about the product I ordered from you. Busy or not, it's a bullshit way to do business. I like their tensioner and I'm sure they're solid people in some instances, but this is bullshit.

Their contact into doesn't include a phone or even an address, to allow them to do that. I wouldn't touch it.

You know, they make good products. It’s just ridiculous that they can’t even take the time to email a customer back who’s supporting their business and already paid for their order. After searching around online I found that this seems like a common theme with them.

I was thinking about ordering their "Brat kit", but, more and more, I'm thinking I'll just fab my own for "The Basketcase". Besides, theirs was only just close to what I was envisioning. We'll see how it turns out in a stone-age garage. :banghead: It'll take a while, it's way down the list...
Too bad about Monstercraftsman. I thought they had a lot of cool stuff... :(

Yeah aftermarket motorcycle is full of stories like this. More enthusiast than businessmen they often wander from problem to disaster and back. Often; pricing too low to pay the bills, and invest in equipment to make the operation efficient, is a big part of the problem. Typical hurdle for small business of every sort.

I have some personal phone numbers on my old phone. I will look and see if they are still there and try to make some calls to get a real answer if possible. They are in a building with a motorcycle mag company in Maryland and have not been at any motorcycle shows . XS650 were on a high years ago and you could make it with just those products. Now many companies had to cut back or go out .

Yeah that would be real cool if you could check. This coming Wednesday will be 4 weeks and my patience is going to turn into something else.

I am currently getting burned by these guys. Ordered a brat kit. It never said out of stock. If it did then that ok. But now it just says "awaiting fulfillment" I sent a barrage of emails this morning. We will see if anything comes of it. The only reason I ordered from them is 1. its a nice product 2. I want the bike done for a show here in KC. I hope they get themselves together and at least give me some kind of response but after a lot of reading about other customers woes I am not hopeful...but the charge definitely cleared my bank!!!

Your situation is literally identical to what I’m dealing with. I even got his personal Facebook account and messaged him there. Search “Jonathan Edwards Krouse” on Facebook. He updates his shit everyday so it’s obvious that he’s seen my message.

Also, check who took payment from your credit card. Mine said “Crafted Fire”, not montercraftsman. Come to find out he has another business called Crafted Fire. Here you go http://craftedfire.com/ . There’s a phone number in the contact info I just called. Some guy picked up and said Jon wasn’t in. When I told him I was calling about a monstercraftsman order he sounded surprised to say the least but knew what I was talking about. He said supposedly he’ll have him call me back but I’m not going to hold my breath.

Give his Facebook a try and call the number for Crafted Fire. It’s (410)413-4903. Maybe two people contacting him through different ways will motivate him so send our shit out. I have a bunch of other info too but at this point I’ll keep it private because I’m still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. Because I’m a nice fucking guy I guess.

I sent a fairly aggressive email to Crafted Fire because as you said that is what my card was billed thru.
A call will follow in the next hour

I actually just got a reply from John just now thru crafted fires email.
Parts were out to laser and says shipping info will follow shortly.
