Didn’t really do anything to the bike today, but took a short field trip. There’s only one shop I’m aware of in the area that will work on vintage bikes. I hadn’t been to the shop in almost 2 years, but recently saw where they moved to a new location. They’ve always had some fun bikes in their showroom, and the owner races 350 Hondas I believe. He’s a nice guy a few years younger than me. It’s good to see someone keeping an old Indy shop open these days. As luck would have it, I had a work dinner just down the street, so I knew I had to check it out. I figured I’d order a new chain and see if they had any spark plugs and spend some bucks there instead of the internet. He’s checking to see if he can order any BP7’s but told him I’d take resistor plugs and new caps as a last resort. I love the smell of old bike shops, earthy, oily and a hint of 2 stroke smoke. Anyway not much else to share, so I’ll show a few of his bikes on the floor.
Owner’s personal race bike
Sweet RD350 with a custom head and pipe
Nice custom CB. very clean
Hopped up DOHC CB750 supersport
A couple early twins
There’s some other early Hondas in that last photo that you can probably pick out too. No idea what the asking prices are except on the CB/CL. I saw those on CL for about 3500. It was a fun trip. I’ll be back next week to pick up my parts. Wish there were more shops like this still around.
