Wow! there are so many great bikes on here. To many great ideas for my next project. May have to build more than one???
Here is mine, kinda plain compared to the others.

No way that's beautiful :thumbsup::thumbsup:nothing wrong with a stock bike I wish I would find one worth keeping stock but most of my bikes were previously butchered and I like fixing things they way they should be.

Here is my barn find. I was looking for a bobber project and came accross this original xs1b. It was is a barn since '82 so it needed a little tlc (battery, gas tank cleaned, and a chain). Not bad for being parked for 27 years. I was like a kid in a candy store when I threw a cap full of gas in the spark plug hole and it started up. Since then I put almost 1000 miles on it.
OK...for some reason I can't upload the pic...Pics are in the pictures section if I don't get this figured out.

Love that color and ona stock bike it look beautiful

nuk39, I love that XS2! My parents bought the Yamaha shop in my home town in the mid-1970's and it had a used XS2 just like yours that came with it. I rode the wheels off that thing until they sold it. May have to get one for the collection some day soon.

- very typical of what is happening to these xt/sr500s in japan...my long legs wouldnt handle that riding position for long...i scored a dry clutch kit for mine last year, one day i will get around to installing it
I had a dry clutch once and wont ever make that mistake again. Let me know how you make out keeping the thing dry.

- no worries roy, these are well made kits with dedicated cases...have had dry clutches in several of my ducatis in the past, no problems there either although the rattling can be disconcerting sometimes, apart from the advantages of cleaner and cooler oil this ones mostly for the cool factor

Thanks dwyatt. I also worked at a Yamaha dealer In Kansas in the 70's. My father inlaw bought this bike brand new in 73 from the dealer I was working at. I finally talked him out of it a couple of years ago. Pretty much in the same shape you see it. I like the bikes you have in your sig. I use to race a 440 and 250 Maico in the late 70's.

Very cool! I also have Duc's with them, I can't here it over the Termi's though. But I have been approached many times about checking my oil due to all the racket.

Saw this beauty at the local flat tracker shop. Not sure what they were doing to it

Where can I get more info on the dry clutch kits? Price, source, ease of installation? I had a Monster 900 and they called the rattle of the clutch - Ducati Music

Ok, so here's my Ugly Betty. This is the only pic I have right now, courtesy of my brother on his Bonnie at 70mph. :D Going to be ripping into it soon to clean it up and customize what I can afford. Lots of cool bikes and great inspiration here for sure.

inxs Should have known it was a harley problam. I had a 69 sportster and the 900 models and the k models had dry clutchs. Lots of time was spent on the rivitd basket trying to keep 70 weight out. Never gave it a thought that there is superior technology out there over the farms of millwaukee.
